Ever since the advent of peer to peer file-sharing in the late 1990s, Internet users have had the ability to make their files available to anyone wishing to obtain them. These transfers, now made easy by programs like Kazaa or LimeWire have since been the bane of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The RIAA has brought file sharing to the forebear of the American legal system with its claims of copyright infringement. But despite the RIAA's efforts, can the Recording Industry survive in the Internet Age? Or is the RIAA now playing both sides of the issue?
