Academic History

 

Chrisalbeth is a psychology major who is also taking the prerequisite courses for medical school to become a child psychiatrist. She is currently a senior, expanding her undergraduate career in the Honors Department at UNLV. She expects to graduate in May 2008.

 

Research Interests

 

Chrisalbeth’s interests include abnormal child psychiatry, endocrinology, psychopharmacology, and the connection between psychopathology and neurobiology. Currently, she is working in collaboration with fellow undergraduate student Heidi Manlove researching the effects of hormones on mood and cognition, the possible interactions between oral contraceptives (OC) and the female’s natural hormones, and ultimately leading to any relationships between OC and mental disturbances.

UNLV Maternal Health Lab

Chrisalbeth is working on her Honors Thesis with Chandler Marrs, Ph.D at the UNLV Maternal Health Lab, under the direction of Douglas P. Ferraro, Ph.D and Peter Gray, Ph.D. In addition to her research, she also manages the MHL MySpace page and the MHL UNLV website.
