Duties for this position include conducting therapy for a myriad of client problems including: personality disorders, depression, adjustment issues, specific phobia, anger management, relationship issues, learning disorders and stress management. Additional duties include writing progress notes, consulting with other professionals, receiving supervision, administering and scoring psychodiagnostic tests, conducting comprehensive assessments for learning disorders and writing integrated reports.

Duties for this position included facilitating parenting classes aimed at decreasing violence and increasing family harmony; facilitating youth violence prevention group interventions; program development and participant recruitment; serving as liaison with several schools and community organizations; collection of research data; and assisting in the development of a CBT based youth violence prevention manual.

Paraprofessional Assistant: School Refusal and Anxiety Disorders Clinic, University of Nevada Las Vegas, NV
Outpatient psychology clinic. This position involved interaction with children age 6 to 15 years and included observing assessments and treatment sessions, assisting in administering various assessment measures and self-report inventories including sections of the ADIS, School Refusal Assessment Scale, CDI, WPS, and CASI. Duties also included scoring a variety of assessment instruments, attending therapy sessions in both the clinic and at clients’ homes, making therapeutic social phone calls and writing subsequent weekly reports.

Research duties included extensive experience assisting in the development of a treatment manual, including serving as an Associate Editor, for child neglecting mothers who abuse drugs. Duties also included working with mothers recovering from substance abuse problems and their families in home based family-therapy setting; providing psychoeducation about drug and alcohol abuse, behavior modification techniques, parenting skills, and communication skills. As chair of the Research Committee, developed templates for IRB proposals; revised and updated electronic library; and trained personnel in research duties.
